When arrived Bangalore I tried to use one of the Uber-like taxi services on my phone, but none of them were responsive and it was 330A and tired after flying over 20hrs. I asked one of the hotel agents who flagged down the Ritz-Carlton agent. He promptly booked a car for me – thankfully – and was at the hotel by 5A. Booked a Club Room, so headed directly to Club Lounge to check-in, which went fairly smooth and quickly in my room. Room was gorgeous with teak wood floors, large bathroom with separate shower & bath tub, nice desk area and one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever experienced. Highly enjoyed the 24hr Club Lounge, where I could grab a snack and drink in the middle of the night while my body clock was in a different time zone. Breakfast in the lounge offered a lot of different things, including a chef who cooked eggs made-to-order. I would have liked to see some of the offerings change each morning, as after 6 days I got kinda tired of eating the same thing. But nonetheless, still enjoyed everything. Did have lunch in the lounge a few days, which seemed to change daily and was plenty to eat. And HH/evening appetizers were plentiful. Overall, I would not stay here again without having lounge access. Totally worth the money. As for service, everyone I experienced were very friendly and willing to assist in every way possible. Some were more conversational than others, but have no complaints. Amenities were nice, including getting items pressed for free. I did have some laundry done, which came back in a basket with each pair of socks wrapped individually (nice touch!) and my laundered shirts the softest I’ve ever had them cleaned before. The only complaints I would have is from the desk you could not view the TV, nor be able to plug into the AV desk plug and use the TV as a 2nd monitor without having to move the entire desk and cords over. Just need to put the TV on a swivel bracket to easily accomplish this. And the rooms A/C was very cold, but seemed to stop working during the night when there was no movement – likely due to the “green” feature of the room itself. I would go to bed cold (as I liked it) and wake up almost sweating in the morning. Maintenance should fix this. Lastly, visited the spa and had a treatment. Locker room was very clean and well kept. Service was attentive, with nice indoor sauna & small jet pool. Massage was very nice. Overall, when I return to Bangalore again this will be the only hotel I stay at…period!
