For our 5 night stay in London, we chose the Waldorf Hilton London for 240,000 Hilton HHonors points versus paying $3145. An easy decision, thanks to CVS previously allowing credit card purchases for Vanilla Reload cards and the AmEx Hilton previously giving bonus points for drugstore purchases…A win-win for everyone! 🙂Waldorf Hilton LondonWe arrived a bit early, before noon, and we were instructed to relax in the Executive Lounge while we waited for our room to be cleaned. The Waldorf Hilton Executive Lounge provided nice breakfast, tea service and evening canapes and alcohol. Throughout the day the lounge was open (with your key) for bottled water, bottled soft drinks, coffee and tea. Always helpful when staying in Europe to save a little money on drinks, especially in expensive London where a bottled water averages $3-$5 USD. While we certainly saved money eating breakfast in the lounge each day, the offerings were the same every day. Would like to see the staff change up breakfast with some rotating items so people staying for a week don’t have to eat the same food for 5 mornings.

Our room was ready about an hour after arriving and what a very nice and spacious room we were given! This was a Waldorf Hilton King Executive Room. VERY NICE! I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves, but the highlights for me were the large space to move around for a week, the 110V plugs at the workdesk and 2 closets so I didn’t have to share. There was also nightly turndown service and were given this welcome amenity to start off our stay here – a very nice touchWaldorf Hilton London welcome amenityHere are the room pictures…IMG_2365 IMG_2362 IMG_2363 IMG_2364 Waldorf Hilton London King Executive Room #1 IMG_2367 IMG_2368Here are some pictures of expensive London…London pictureIMG_2306IMG_2357IMG_2345IMG_2332IMG_2291IMG_2279IMG_2275IMG_2272IMG_2199IMG_2193We booked The Big Bus for a 2-day Hop-On-Hop-Off of London. We paid approx $75 USD each. The route goes all around London and includes a walking tour and boat trip. There are several other companies offering the same, but those companies had pushy sales people while The Big Bus representative was more laid back, offering answers to any questions we had and wasn’t rude or putting down the other companies. So we went with the more positive sales rep and enjoyed our tour of London. They also offer free panchos when raining, ear plugs, and either a live tour guide or recorded tour guide with 8 different languages. We enjoyed the recorded one better.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay in London and at the Waldorf Hilton London. We plan to stay at this centrally located hotel again upon our return next time.
